Al-Ahli Hospital performs Total Knee Replacement on both knees

Ghana national now able to walk two days after her knee replacement
 
She endured severe pain in the left knee and joints and was suffering for the last 15 years.  This Ghanaian national had severe Osteoarthritis of both knee joints.  A total knee replacement was recommended and successfully carried out at Al-Ahli Hospital.

Dr. Emmanuel Tolessa, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon and Clinical Director of Orthopaedics and Traumatology Department at Al-Ahli Hospital, who performed the surgery said, “This lady came to me with chronic pain in both knee joints.  Although she had undergone realignment surgery for her knee cap in her home country she continued to suffer with her quality of life affected and especially restricted in walking, kneeling, and bending.  I arranged a bilateral knee replacement and today she is able walk freely.”
 
"The procedure was performed under General Anaesthesia and there was minimum blood loss.  Many a times, residents of Qatar travel abroad to get this procedure done.  By performing this procedure, local residents will benefit from this procedure, " added Dr. Tolessa.
