Al-Ahli Hospital will hold a Medical Symposium on 26 April 2011 at the Al-Ahli Hospital Auditorium.  This seminar is meant for all interested doctors in Qatar and registration is free of charge.

 

Dr. Abdulazim Abdul Wahab Hussain, Consultant General Surgeon and Medical Director of Al-Ahli Hospital, will speak on the Modern Management of Hemorrhoids.  Prof. Harald Rosen, Consultant Visiting General Surgeon from Austria, will speak on the Modern Management of Diverticular Disease.

 

Al-Ahli Hospital will mark World Health Day by holding an Exhibition in  the afternoon and a Public Interaction Program in the evening.  World Health Day is celebrated on 7 April 2011 to mark the founding of the World Health Organization.  Al-Ahli Hospital’s program centers around its theme “Save your Back”.  There will be an afternoon exhibition open to the public, free of charge, where different departments will offer advice on Low Back Pain including medical departments such as Orthopedics, Neurology, Physiotherapy, Chiropractic Medicine, and Pharmacy.  Bone Mineral Density (DEXA) scans will be done free of charge and will be interpreted by doctors from the Rheumatology/Orthopedic Department.  A free DVD Guide on Low Back Pain will be given to the first 100 participants.  Additionally, a Public Interaction Program will be held in the evening at the hospital’s Auditorium, where consultants from Al-Ahli Hospital will give presentations on different aspects of Low Back Pain.

 

Al-Ahli Hospital, in cooperation with Hamad Medical Corporation’s (HMC) Blood Donor Unit, will hold a Blood Donation Drive from 8am until 12pm on 14 March 2011 (Monday) in the Al-Ahli Hospital parking area.  Members of the public are invited to participate along with Al-Ahli Hospital staff members.

 

Al-Ahli Hospital’s Surgical team, led by Dr. Abdul Azim Abdul Wahab Hussain (Medical Director and Head of Surgery Department), performed the latest incisionless technique for curing Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD), commonly known as Heartburn.  This is the first time this procedure has ever been performed in Qatar.

Al-Ahli Hospital will hold its Continuing Medical Education program on 22 February 2011, in the Al-Ahli Hospital Auditorium.  This seminar is meant for all interested doctors in Qatar and registration is free of charge.
